Kangana Ranaut, who has also co-written and co-produced the movie, said that the film was based on a real-life character. She said, \"Lamhe is not a life-less tale as it is based on the life of Kangana Parveen, who was the woman my parents found out that I had a crush on. My elder sister, who was living with them at the time, introduced the many facets of this woman to my parents, who had known her when she was a child. But my parents were shocked to know that Kangana Parveen, who was brutally raped at the age of 12 and tried to kill herself, was also a schizophrenic, and that, a few years later, she was admitted to Bangalore's Sydenham's Hospital.\"
Woh Lamhe... (English: Those Moments) is a 2006 Indian romantic drama film directed by Mohit Suri, starring Kangana Ranaut and Shiney Ahuja in the lead roles. The film is supposedly based on Parveen Babi's life, her battle with schizophrenia and her relationship with Mahesh Bhatt to whom she was a lover as well as a mentor in his struggling days.
